1937 Buck Rogers Solar Scouts Secret Code Book

1937 Buck Rogers Solar Scouts Secret Code Book

As a member of the Buck Rogers Solar Scouts all written communications were "required" to be transmitted using the Zodion Code. Message transcription could only be deciphered and written using the Buck Rogers Secret Code Book! Because of the way it was supposed to be used, today it's one of the most difficult Buck Rogers items to find intact, in high grade, and without any writing. This example fulfills all those criteria and grades near mint. It's also the only one I've seen!

It's a simple metal spiral bound pad with lined paper. The cover features a glossy full-body illustration of Buck Rogers drawn by the original artist, Dick Calkins. It's printed in black on heavy stock paper with a mottled glossy orange surface. Buck is shown in a guarding standing position with feet firmly planted on the good ole' U.S. of A. Date and copyright information were also printed as well as a blank line for the Solar Scouts (SS) name. Notice that this example was never filled in.

The back cover includes the entire Zodion Code with explanations of its "secret and private use". It's approximately ¼" thick with its original white blue-lined paper. They've never been used.
